Ikebana Demonstration

Sandra Cottee will demonstrate Ikebana with Janet Fraser's vases on Saturday afternoon.

Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, is a contemplative practice that goes beyond decoration. Rooted in simplicity, balance, and harmony, it emphasises line, space, and form, often using minimal elements to evoke the natural rhythms of life. Unlike Western floral design, Ikebana invites a meditative stillness, where each stem, leaf, and bloom is placed with intention, symbolising the transience and quiet beauty of nature.
