Sara Gonzalez
Sara Gonzalez's practice centres on woodfired vessels and sculptural forms. Working with clay as a material that records process, she creates pieces that balance function with a strong sense of presence, inviting touch, use and connection.
Fired in the anagama kiln at Middle Pocket Pottery, her work embraces the unpredictability of ash, flame and atmosphere. From everyday objects to larger vessels and wall-based works, each piece carries the marks of its journey through the kiln. Drawn to organic forms and richly textured surfaces, Sara sees woodfiring as a collaboration between maker and fire, where time, material and chance converge to create objects with depth, character and individuality.
Sara Gonzalez will be showcasing her work at Middle Pocket Pottery, alongside Venessa Skye, Jo Norton and Susanne Fraser during the 2026 Mud Trail.
