Raven Esque
Raven Esque is an artist and educator with a background in sculpture, textiles, surface finishing, and design. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the National Art School in Sydney.
He works from his studio on Arakwal Country near Mullumbimby, where he develops ceramics using wood-fired kiln processes. His work includes both functional tableware and sculptural vessels, with a focus on process, surface, and the unpredictability of fire. Alongside his studio practice, he is involved in land restoration and regenerative land care, with a strong interest in ecology and natural systems. These ideas often flow into his work, which brings together abstracted references to plants, animals, and landscape through form and surface.
He currently teaches ceramics courses at Northern Rivers Pottery Supplies, supporting students to build skills in ceramics through hands-on making and a strong understanding of materials and process.
