Nityama Martin
My love of working with clay began through studying ceramics, where I developed a strong focus on wheel throwing and an appreciation for the technical and creative possibilities of the medium.
Since then, I have continued my practice from my studio at Tuntable Creek, surrounded by a rainforest garden rich with birdlife and native animals. The transformation of a simple piece of clay into a finished ceramic object remains an endlessly fascinating process.
In recent years, I have focused on creating a range of fine stoneware pieces, high-fired in a reduction kiln. I enjoy making work that is both artistic and functional.
My aim is to create pieces that are beautiful to look at and satisfying to hold—objects that can be used and enjoyed every day while bringing a sense of beauty and connection to the home.
